Welder/Trailer Mechanic Maxim Truck & Trailer13240 170th St. N.W.Edmonton, AB T5V 1M7 Maxim is currently seeking a WELDER/ TRAILER TECHNICIAN for our Edmonton Location. The successful candidate will work independently to complete the diagnostics, service and repair of heavy duty trailers. This is a dual position that also includes welding as a primary task. Hours: Two week rotation of day and evening shifts: Rotation 1: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Rotation 2: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday to Friday. Weekend shift: Saturday-Monday or Friday-Sunday, 8:00AM to 8:30PM Responsibilities: Complete thorough and quality diagnostic, service and repair of heavy duty trailers, including welding duties Identify potential and future problems Make recommendations on repairs or replacement parts Update the Service Manager on completion time changes Road test the unit to ensure quality of work completed Document repairs, parts, or problems encountered during repair process on repair order Maintain a clean and safe work environment Qualifications: Journeyman Trailer Technician or 2ndYear Heavy Duty Truck Apprentice to Journeyman Preferred Previous experience with trailer fabrication work Safety Inspections Certificate an asset Interest in continually upgrading skills and knowledge in trade Valid Class One with Air Driver's License an asset (for road tests) Team player with strong commitment to the customer Demonstrated problem-solving skills Basic computer skills and ability to learn in-house programs Ability to lift 75 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks Familiar with the tools of the trade and personally equipped with adequate supply of hand tools We Offer: Competitive hourly wage Shift Premium for evenings or weekends Group benefits including health, dental & vision Apprenticeship assistance plan Employee referral bonuses Ongoing manufacturer’s training Opportunities for advancement Boot & tool allowance Tool insurance More About Us: We provide quality transportation equipment, parts, and service to our customers.
