We are presently accepting resumes for a number of permanent part-time Treatment Home Support Workers to provide quality supports to individuals residing in the Treatment Home. Follow identified strategies in treatment plans to meet the direct needs of the individuals living in the home, in accordance with the policies and procedures of Empower Simcoe and legislative requirements. Compensation Package: Work up to 24 hours per week comprised of 12-hour shifts; Minimum starting rate of pay is $32.60 per hour; 11 paid statutory holidays; Confidential Employer paid EAP program for you and your family members; Following the successful completion of a 6-month probationary period: Employer paid health and life insurance; Participation in a group RRSP plan; Employer paid sick, personal leave and vacation hours; Minimum Requirements for this position include: Community College Diploma in Social Services or a closely related field from an acceptable accredited college. Educational focus in Behavioural Sciences, Psychology, Police Foundations, Child and youth Worker, Developmental Services Worker, Social Services Worker, etc. Registered Behavioural Technician certificate an asset; Minimum of (2) years recent full-time work experience supporting hard to serve adults with complex care needs in community residential settings. Providing support for individuals with an intellectual disability who may also be diagnosed with Mental Health Disorder or Dual Diagnosis experiencing complex behavioural challenges requiring specialized training in complex care needs and the use of treatment plans. Experience supporting people with behaviour management techniques is an asset; Experience supporting teams with the implementation of clinical and or treatment plans in collaboration with Manger of Clinical and Treatment Services, community partners and families; Extensive experience in supporting persons through applied behaviour management techniques are a critical part of this role. Duties and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to): Demonstrate a clear understanding of the requirements for data collection and implement for all treatment plans; Participating in the supported individuals' goal planning in accordance with the desire of the individual and in conjunction with the Site Coordinator and Manager; Foster the independence of those supported in the program and actively participate in transition planning for people supported and their families; Demonstrate a clear understanding to ensure implementation of all safety protocols for each person supported ensuing the health and safety of people supported, staff, visitors and community; Provide appropriate supports to meet the physical, medical, and emotional needs of all supported individuals, i.e.: doctor's appointments, medical reviews; As part of clinical duties, required to provide reports, data overview on approved clinical interventions; Demonstrate a clear understanding and implementation of all treatment plans, related protocols and data collection required; Maintaining healthy professional boundaries when supporting people and their families; Demonstrate initiative by anticipating and preparing for problem solving and preventative strategies; Administering medications in accordance with the Agency's policies and procedures; Facilitating family participation in individuals' life; Liaise with clinical professionals, collect appropriate data, and actively carry out appropriately prescribed programs & treatments to address the clinical, behavioural and/or mental health needs of people supported; Advising the Manager in a timely manner of concerns including staff issues and participating in a resolution; To work in collaboration with the Manager and Site Coordinator to analyze Personal Outcome data, and effect changes to supports as needed or requested by each person supported; Dispensing of daily medication and documenting medication dispensing in the MARS book as assigned by the Site Coordinator; Supporting people with their budgeting, banking and purchases as may be requested or required and completing necessary Agency documentation. Being accountable and responsible for Agency monies spent, e.g. groceries, supplies, petty cash; Assisting with household routines such as cleaning, cooking, and minor maintenance; Special factors of this position: Demonstrate the ability to respond effectively and calmly in crisis situations through various approved verbal de-escalation and physical intervention techniques. Position requires considerable physical interventions involving frequent bending, turning, twisting, and kneeling in response to crisis behaviour; Proficient in the administration of first aid, CPR, NVCI, and medication dispensing; Valid class G driver's license and own reliable transportation to be used in the course of employment.
