Williams Operating Corporation - Barrick Gold located near Marathon in Northwestern Ontario presently requires a: Long-Term Planner Position Description: The Long-Term Planner is responsible for the long-term underground mine design and planning. Accountable for the Hemlo budget schedules and Life of Mine Plan the role will liaise with all mine function stakeholders to ensure the mining operations are planned, scheduled, and supported in a manner that maximizes the value of the resource while considering safety, business risk and creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Responsibilities: Responsible for delivery of the budget mine design and schedule and Life of Mine Plan Support the Mid-Term Planning team in creation of the 3 month and 18 Month plans Optimization of the lateral, vertical and stopes design for the 12 Month and Life of Mine Plan Initiate, manage, and oversee technical and operational projects Planning of capital infrastructure including electrical, dewatering and material management systems Assess alternate mining areas, methods or practises Review upcoming exploration and grade control & resource expansion drilling requirements with Geology Ensure geotechnical considerations are included in the stoping sequence and development schedule Effectively promote, deploy, and comply with all Safety & Health and Environmental policies, standards, procedures and regulations within the Mine Technical Services Department Fostering collaborative relationships throughout the organisation including but not limited to geology, metallurgy, maintenance and finance functions Establish a culture of continuous improvement supported by effective measurement systems Ensure mine plans are issued to all stakeholders in an accurate and timely manner Assist with training and mentoring junior team members Assist with updating mine planning procedures and standards Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mine Technician Diploma or relevant experience. +3 years of Underground mining experience including experience in mid and long-range planning Demonstrated knowledge of Engineering standards, with a technical expertise Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization, including executives. Excellent time management and project management skills. An inquisitive approach to understand and share learning High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning. Experience with a range of mining software Desirable Practical Underground experience Relevant mining software expertise including (Deswik, Xeras, SAP) Experience developing and training of Junior Engineers Experience with Open Pit Planning What we can Offer You A comprehensive compensation package including competitive bonuses, benefits, pension, and company match share purchase plan.
