Opportunity Position: The position of Human Resources Assistant is responsible for supporting the Human Resources department in the delivery of Human Resources services and programs for the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society. This position will offer an opportunity to work with a Human Resources team to learn and develop skills in full cycle Recruitment, Human Resources administrative support, and project support. Status: Short Term Contract Position Location: Remote Position. Occasional travel may be required to Stouffville, Ontario. Essential Duties Snapshot HR Planning and Recruitment · Assist Human Resources team in provincial office and animal centre recruitment related support · Support creation of job postings for Animal Centres and Provincial Office; update as required · Post-employment opportunities on various employment sites and social media platforms · Administer pre-checks, conduct pre-screening, reference checks, and schedule interviews as required · Respond to employment inquiries via phone and email · Create and send emails to job applicants as well as follow up with unsuccessful job applicants · Assist in completing volunteer recruitment interviews as required · Log relevant recruitment data and update recruitment logs · Invite new employees and track attendance for Human Resources Department online orientation · Assist Human Resources team in in developing tools and processes to improve recruitment and selection processes · Help with research along with Human Resources team on current salary by industry, job title, hiring climate · Participate in updating and maintenance of position descriptions Training and Development · Participate in new employee orientation activities; welcome emails, presentations, assignment of · mandatory training in HR Downloads, etc. · Prepare training resources to support HR initiatives and programs Employee Health and Safety and Wellness · Support Human Resources team to design and create content for a variety of weekly scheduled and · annually run wellness events: Wellness Wednesday, Bell Let’s Talk day, Mental Health Week · Support the Human Resources team with Occupational Health and Safety related activities and · programs within the organization · Aid in administration and documentation of H&S compliance programs, updating H&S board, · employee H&S training, first aid training, emergency drills, and AODA multi-year accessibility plan SharePoint Administration · Upload and maintain Human Resources files in SharePoint as needed · Maintain and upload documents to SharePoint Published folders Additional Functions Including but not limited to: · Maintain Yammer community content on HR channels · Occasional travel to animal centres as needed Why You Should Join Our Team? · Be part of an energetic team environment with others who share your passion for animal wellbeing! · Competitive compensation package · Remote work opportunity! · Employee Family Assistance Program · Predictable day time hours · Flex-time work opportunities Do You Have What it Takes? · Excellent communication (written and verbal) · Motivated problem solver · Enrolled in a post-secondary program specializing in HR or related field · Computer literate with intermediate knowledge of MS Office applications including a strong skillset in Excel · Experience with virtual learning/hosting technologies e.g. ZOOM, MS Teams · Clerical and/or office administration experience an asset · Experience with using an HRIS system an asset · Recruitment experience an asset We Can’t Wait to Meet You!
