Our Client: Electronics & Defense designs. Manufactures electronic control units and components for aerospace and safety critical applications. Its multidisciplinary Engineering team consists of product, hardware, software and test specialists with a vast array of skills and competencies to meet the rigorous demands of the market. About the Position Reporting to: Manager of Hardware Engineering We are seeking an Embedded Hardware Designers to join our Engineering team for the development of a new product line. You will be part of the core team to define the requirements, perform detailed design and analysis, and integrate the product in the lab and within representative environments such as thermal, vibration, EMC and lightning. The job will include involvement in all stages of the design life-cycle following the guidelines of a DO-254 or equivalent process. Analyze and specify hardware development environment (HDE), verification environment, debugging and profiling tools Analyze user’s requirements and creating a detailed hardware architecture and formal Perform electronics trade off analysis, detailed designs and evaluation Perform circuit analysis and traceability from user’s requirements to formal design and implementation Support and inspect the installation, modification, testing and operation of electronic components, systems and equipment Debug and troubleshoot hardware circuits Work within the integration team to define, implement and verify the cross over boundaries between Hardware, Software and FPGA Environments. Define effort estimates and development logic to support scheduling and on-time delivery of development activities Participate and support program risk assessment and mitigation Provide presentations to customers on hardware design and operation Other duties as assigned Skills and Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of analog and digital hardware design &/ verification experience Hands on application of normal development cycles such as DO-254 or ARP4754A equivalent process Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools advanced features (Word, Project, Excel, SharePoint, Teams) Proficient with Schematic Capture and Design tools, preferably OrCAD or ZUKEN Experience within the domain of embedded systems including but not limited to: Embedded microcontrollers FPGAs Sensor acquisition circuits Output drivers Fault BIT Management Environmental protections Benefits: Located in Kawarthas (1.5 hours from Toronto) Flexible work schedule with remote work opportunities Comprehensive Benefits & Employee Share Program Collaborative work environment Professional development and career growth Access to discounts with local business partners Note: Successful candidates will be required to complete criminal background check and reference check.
