Overview Secunda Canada is a well-known offshore Marine Company and our primary area of operation is Eastern Canada. The expertise of our personnel stems from working over two decades in our harsh weather environment as the leader of support services in platform supply, anchor handling, rescue standby and towage. We are currently accepting resumes for experienced and qualified ETO’s for positions working in offshore Newfoundland working a 28 day on/off rotation for a 6+ month contract beginning (tentatively) in April 2023. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Electrical Technician Officer is responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all electrical machinery and associated controls on board the vessel. He/she is to perform all planned maintenance activities in accordance with the vessel’s program as instructed by the Chief Engineer. Under the supervision of the Chief Engineer he/she is to ensure that all hazardous work is carried out under controlled conditions and that all company safety procedures are observed. He/she is to maintain up-to-date inventories of engine room spare parts, stores and supplies. Secunda offers: A competitive salary Lump sum payment in lieu of Benefits upon completion of contract Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes: Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications, experience, and personal attributes. Certificate of Proficiency as an Electro-Technician, STCW Regulation III/7 required 2+ years’ relevant offshore experience within the marine sector; recent offshore standby experience on a PSV or AHTS vessel is strongly preferred 1+ years experience on hybrid/battery propulsion vessel required Valid Marine Basic or Marine Advanced First Aid and CPR Valid Unrestricted Transport Canada Marine Medical Ship Personnel with Designated Security Duties certificate WHMIS Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English Experience with TM Master is an asset Self-starter, analytical and problem-solving capabilities, demonstrated effectiveness in working with charterers, safety leadership and employee/team development Preference given to qualified candidates who are residents of NL Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 Secunda Canada is committed to the principle of fair representation of the designated target groups, as defined by the federal Employment Equity Act (women, indigenous peoples, members of visible minorities, and persons with disabilities).
