Working closely with our SVP, Corporate Affairs, Senior Executives, and net-zero working group leads, this role will be responsible for driving the execution of Aviva's industry-leading net-zero ambition across our business. What you'll do: Lead the development and execution of Aviva's Sustainability/ESG ambition with a focus on climate/environment Lead all aspects of the strategy and deliverables of all Aviva's sustainability and community investments Responsible for Sustainability Business Standards and related policies Lead Aviva's disclosure and reporting communications strategies, including the production of annual disclosure reports. Drive execution of Aviva's Sustainability Ambition (ESG) with a focus on Aviva's climate agenda. Lead the development and execution of Aviva's climate strategy and roadmap to deliver on Aviva's impact objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) Work closely with Global Sustainability leaders across Aviva markets to ensure alignment in the Canadian market, helping craft the evolution of Aviva's Sustainability Ambition, measurement and centers of excellence. Serve as the go-to subject matter expert with internal climate working groups. Provide strategic advice on all matters relating to ESG, focusing on climate/environment. Act as a strategic counsel to senior leaders on all ESG matters with a focus on climate Coordinate the strategy, results and partnership management strategies for Aviva's sustainability and community investments Lead, support and develop a team of dedicated, driven high performers to bring ESG strategies to life As climate lead of Climate SteerCo, shape and influence Steerco agenda and lead in debates What you'll bring: Bachelor's or master’s degree in a relevant field such as Sustainability or Environmental Science, Social Science, etc Minimum 10-15 years’ experience in corporate social responsibility/ESG, preferably in financial services, corporate reporting, management consulting and/or sustainable investing Minimum 3-5 years leading a team/function Certified Sustainability Practitioner Experience in resolving ESG materiality, impact measurements, evaluation and reporting in a corporate setting Experience leading sophisticated projects with multiple senior partners Proficient in rules, regulations, and trends in ESG space, particularly in the financial sector Hands-on experience running related programs in the financial sector, including ESG strategy development Excellent analytical skills and a familiarity with sustainability strategy and reporting measurement and analysis Strong management, decision-making and interpersonal skills A people-first leader with a consistent track record of project management capabilities, including the ability to lead contending priorities and multiple projects at a time Flourishes with teamwork, problem-solving and accomplishing shared goals with the ability to work effectively with a cross-functional team, including senior leadership and global offices.
