The individual will also demonstrate cash/profit management by advising customers on other available services, book appointments and build long-lasting customer relationships. Job Duties: Advise customers about necessary service for routine maintenance. Verify service concerns by conducting vehicle walk-around inspections and obtain an accurate odometer reading. Obtain customer and vehicle data. Help identify a mechanical problem by questioning the customer and/or performing a visual inspection or road test. Examine customer service history before completing a repair order. Confer with customer about inspection results, recommend corrective procedures and prepare work order for needed repairs Confer with customer about inspection results, recommend corrective procedures and prepare work order for needed repairs. Obtain customer’s written approval for all repair orders. Provide estimates for labour and parts. Follow up on work in progress of each repair order during the day. Offer and arrange alternate transport for customers if necessary. Update customers on the status of their vehicle. Answer all technical repair work and price related questions for customers. Notify customers immediately if additional work to their vehicle is needed. Verify all repair orders to ensure completion prior to customer delivery. Test drive vehicle or refer to shop foreman. Complete closing of work order; sign off on finished work, inform customer that vehicle is ready for pick up. Confirm each customer’s method of payment and if necessary, obtain approval of credit. May contact customers when special-order parts arrive. Verify customer information and update if necessary. Resolve customer complaints courteously and promptly, or refer to Service Manager. Keep abreast of relevant changes in automobiles and dealership products. Maintain awareness of factory-recommended maintenance schedules. Follow all company and manufacturer policies, directives and procedures. Understand and follow legislation and workplace health and safety requirements. Attend all department meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Performance Criteria: · Operating the department at a profit according to dealership guidelines. · Acceptable sales penetration levels. · Accuracy of paperwork. · High regard for customer satisfaction. · Positive feedback from internal/external customers. · Proactive, positive and a self-starter. · Maintain a professional appearance. · Workers have a general duty to take responsibility for personal Health & Safety, which means they should not behave or operate equipment in a way that would endanger themselves or others.
